The story worth telling

A confident opening can get attention, but the explanation has to earn it. Keep the example that supports your point and the qualification that makes it accurate. The brief should tell the editor what would change the meaning if removed.

Three things to capture

1. A clear statement of the claim
2. The evidence or example
3. The necessary qualification

Let the camera run a little before and after each action. Those extra seconds give you room to find a better cut.
